Welcome to Hope Blooms. Developed by the law firm of HensonFuerst, Hope Blooms is a community-based garden established to promote and provide awareness regarding cancer research and cancer survivorship as well as to aid in the fight to eradicate cancer. Daffodils, one of the first flowers to bloom every spring, symbolize hope for a cancer-free world.

Hope Blooms Garners Local News Coverage
The Nashville Graphic
recently published a story about HensonFuerst’s third year growing the Hope Blooms Garden, a community fundraiser and cancer-awareness.

In addition to the campaign to raise funds and awareness through the daffodil garden, HensonFuerst will also be awarding two new awards this year; the “Hope Award” goes to a caregiver that went above and beyond treating a cancer patient, and the “Courage Award” will be given to a cancer patient that has shown strength and courage while fighting this devastating disease. HensonFuerst receives 2007 Relay For Life Honors
HensonFuerst’s 2007 Relay for Life team was honored with the Spirit Sponsor Award and was the Best Business Team Campsite winner. The campsite theme revolved around Hope Blooms, the community-based garden and cancer awareness program introduced by HensonFuerst in 2006. The team was also honored as an All Star Team, raising $7,379.36 for Relay for Life.

The first Hope Blooms garden was planted in Spring 2006. Located at the corner of Bethlehem Road and Harbour West Drive in the city of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, the garden was made possible by a generous donation of property by the city. We anticipate a number of other cities in North Carolina to follow suit, allowing for the creation of numerous daffodil gardens across the state. The gardens will be a living symbol of hope that one day there will be a cure for cancer.

April, David and Thomas,

Thank you for a wonderful and beautiful garden. It was a great day to plant daffodils and so many people were touched by the event. I have not seen my father (Bill Merrifield) this excited about something in a long time. He really enjoyed meeting and talking with everyone and on his behalf and my mother´s memory (Pat Merrifield) I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I look forward to doing the Relay for LIfe with all of you.

Thanks Again,
Candy Laughinghouse

To help fill the garden, Hope Blooms has an annual fundraising event that is held in conjunction with the American Cancer Society's "Daffodil Days." Donations are accepted for pots of daffodils which are then placed in the garden. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society, an organization that makes a difference in the lives of so many across our region and throughout the country.
